Preparation Time: 30 minutes of preparation + 60 minutes of proofing | Cooking Time: 30 mins
INGREDIENTS:
- 50 ml of skimmed milk
- 1/2 sachet of baker's dry yeast
- 550 g unleavened flour
- 100 g of sugar
- 50 g of lean butter
- 100 ml of orange juice
- 2 eggs
- 1 pinch of salt
- Oil for frying
- Sugar and cinnamon for sprinkling
Coverage:
- mix of dried fruits q.s.
- Sliced almonds q.s.
- powdered sugar for sprinkling
PREPARATION:
In a bowl with warm milk, add the baker's yeast, stir well and set aside.
In a bowl, add the flour, sugar and a pinch of salt, and mix everything together. Open a cavity in the middle and add the orange juice, butter, beaten eggs and dissolved yeast. Mix well until smooth. If necessary, sprinkle with more flour.
Sprinkle a table with flour, add the dough and knead until the dough no longer sticks. Transfer to the floured bowl, sprinkle with more flour, cover with a cloth and leave to rise for 1 hour.
After the indicated time, wet your hands with oil and remove pieces of dough. Extend them with your fingers.
Now let's fry! With the oil already hot, on low heat - this is important, as if it is too high they will cook on the outside and remain raw on the inside. I use this pan because it has more depth. Fry them until golden on both sides and place on a tray lined with absorbent paper.
And while they are hot, coat them with sugar and cinnamon.
