Preparation Time: 10 mins  |  Cooking Time: 90 mins  |  To: 3-4 people

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1kg of meat for steaks
  • 1 large onion cut into julienne strips
  • 4 cloves of garlic
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 400 ml of beer
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 210 g tomato pulp
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 Tbsp (tea) sweet pepper
  • 1 tbsp (tea) pepper
  • 1 Tbsp (tea) nutmeg
  • Biju bread (at least 2 per person)
  • French fries as a side dish
  • Salt and piri-piri sauce to taste

PREPARATION:

In a pan, with hot oil, add the julienned onion and sliced garlic cloves. Let the onion sauté until it becomes translucent.

Add the tomato pulp and season with paprika. Wrap everything up very well. Drizzle with beer and mix everything. Add the Worcestershire sauce, pepper, nutmeg and mix everything. Season with piri-piri and salt.

Let it boil for 5 minutes. Remove the bay leaves. Undo everything with the magic wand. Let it boil over medium heat for 5 minutes.

Add the steaks, season with salt and mix everything together. Cover and let cook for around 40 minutes over moderate to low heat, or until tender. Turn the meat occasionally.

Meanwhile, cut the bread in half. Stuff with the steaks and drizzle with some of the meat sauce.
