Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 180ºC.

  2. To obtain a lighter dough, beat all the ingredients for a long time. Do this for at least five minutes. This procedure will help to incorporate air into the cake dough, making the dough fluffier.

  3. Separate the yolks from the whites. Place in a mixer and beat until the egg whites are stiff and set aside.

  4. Beat four egg yolks, together with the juice of two oranges.

  5. Add a cup of sugar. Beat the egg yolks and sugar for 5 minutes until a whitish cream forms.

  6. Add two cups of sifted flour and yeast and mix everything together.

  7. Add the zest of an orange and mix.

  8. Then, fold the four egg whites into the previous preparation.

  9. Grease a mold with butter and sprinkle with flour and pour the dough into it.

  10. Bake in the oven (preheated to 180 degrees) for around 45 minutes.

  11. When it is cooked, remove it from the oven, let it cool and remove it from the mold.

  12. You can decorate the cake with powdered sugar or grated coconut.
